Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (“HKQAA”) has conducted an independent verification for the Sustainability Report 2019/20 (“The Report”) of Airport Authority Hong Kong (“AAHK”). The Report states AAHK’s strategies, commitments, future plans and targets as well as performance towards sustainability for the period from 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2020. The report mainly covers AAHK’s core business and operation in Hong Kong with reference made to AAHK’s subsidiaries and outsourced operations where relevant.
The objective of this verification is to provide a reasonable assurance on the reliability of the data and information disclosed in the Report. The report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Standards (“GRI Standards”): Core option and the GRI G4 Airport Operators Sector Disclosures.
The verification process was conducted according to:
International Standard on Assurance Engagement (ISAE) 3000 (Revised) – “Assurance Engagement Other Than Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information” issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board; and
GRI Standards and the GRI G4 Airport Operators Sector Disclosures.
The process included the review of the internal data collection and management mechanism, interview with responsible personnel for preparing the Report, and checking of raw activity data and supporting evidence of the selected samples of data and information.
HKQAA was not involved in collecting and calculating data, or in the development of the Report. HKQAA’s activities are independent from AAHK. There is no relationship between AAHK and HKQAA beyond the contractual agreement for providing the verification service.
Based on the verification procedures conducted, HKQAA has obtained a reasonable assurance and is in the opinion that:
The Report has been prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards: Core option and GRI G4 Airport Operators Sector Disclosures;
The Report illustrates AAHK’s sustainability performance, covering all relevant material aspects in a balanced, comparable and timely manner; and
The data and information disclosed in the Report are accurate and reliable.
In conclusion, the Report allows stakeholders to access clear information about AAHK’s commitments, performance and progress towards sustainability.
